Darrick Addison is a member of six different professional
associations, all of which are important to his successful career in the
information technology sector. Starting in 1994 while he was still an
undergraduate, Darrick Addison became the President of the Association for
Computing Machinery at South Carolina State University. Post-graduation,
Darrick Addison joined the National Capital Area Council Consultants Network,
the Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer Study Group, the Microsoft Certified Solutions
Developer Study Group, the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers,
and the National Independent Computer Consultants Association.
Darrick Addison values professional
associations for several reasons. Firstly, they give his career a sense of
validity. Some of his associations, particularly the Microsoft Certified Study
Groups, are necessary for his career development. The certifications that he
has received for this group allow him to pursue work in the information
technology field. These associations demonstrate that Darrick Addison has the
required skills to work successfully as a Software Engineer and Consultant.
Secondly, Darrick Addison enjoys the networking opportunities that
arise from his professional associations. Many of his associations offer
vocational assistance, and are committed to helping their members find work in
the field. Although he currently manages a successful information technology
and consulting firm, ASC Technologies, LLC, Darrick Addison still values the
emphasis that his associations place on employment assistance.
