Darrick Addison is an Alum of South Carolina State University

Darrick Addison’s impressive career in the information technology field started with his education at South Carolina State University. Darrick Addison graduated from South Carolina State University in 1996 with Cum Laude honors. He received a Bachelor's of Science degree in Computer Science, with a minor in Mathematics.

South Carolina State University was established in 1896, and is located in Orangeburg, South Carolina. The university is a historically African-American institution, and is a member of the Thurgood Marshall College Fund. To this day, it is still the only state funded African-American land-grant institution in South Carolina.

South Carolina State University is a smaller school, with approximately 4500 students. However, what it lacks in study body size is compensated by its impressive array of programs. It is the only university in South Carolina to offer an undergraduate Nuclear Engineering program, a Doctor's of Education program, and a Master’s of Science in Transportation. South Carolina University’s programs rank highly among the state’s higher education institutions.

Darrick Addison chose to attend South Carolina State University for its comprehensive Computer Sciences and Mathematics program. The university does not differentiate between mathematics and computer sciences, and instead has one overarching Department of Mathematics and Computer Sciences. This unique structure drew Darrick Addison’s interest, as he was able to combine both of his interests into one program. He feels that he received a top-of-the-line education from South Carolina State University, which gave him the skills to become a successful Software Engineer/Consultant in the field of information technology.
